The only combining factor of this group is the uniqueness of the territories
listed, which are somehow foreign to their natural surroundings and cannot be
linked to any `stamp group` as common types, etc.
The State of Israel - being the only Jewish state within a vast area of Arab
countries. It was mainly inhabited by immigrants following its independence.
The Republic of Liberia - being the only state in the African continent never
to be ruled by foreigners, and created for the purpose of settling freed U.S.
Ethiopia could also be included, as it was a colony only for a short while in
1936, as a part of Italian East Africa.
