industries.
Algeria occupation by FRANCE began in 1830, conquest gradually until becoming
a French territory and then a French overseas department. An organized
revolution started in 1954. The war, causing the fall down of the 4th French
Republic, lasted until 1962 when independence was granted by Charles De-Gaulle.
First stamps issued in 1924. Indirect UPU membership under France from January
1st, 1876, direct from October 1st 1907, and from May 28th direct as independent
state. Annual output about 30.
