A Constitutional Monarchy, located northwest of the continent of Europe

In the 19th century and beginning of 20th Great Britain was the greatest colonial power
with IRELAND (EIRE) as part of it, today still having several colonies and dependencies
under its administration of which the Queen of England is chief of state: ANGUILLA,
BERMUDA, BRITISH ANTARCTIC TERRITORY, BRITISH INDIAN OCEAN TERRITORY,
VIRGIN ISLANDS, CAYMAN ISLANDS, FALKLAND ISLANDS (with SOUTH GEORGIA),
GIBRALTAR, MONTSERRAT, ST.HELENA (with dependencies ASCENSION and
TRISTAN DA CUNHA), PITCAIRN ISLANDS and TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS. HONG KONG until1997.
Great Britain is the leading member state of the British Commonwealth of 50
Nations: ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, AUSTRALIA, BAHAMAS, BANGLADESH, BARBADOS, BELIZE,
BOTSWANA, BRUNEI, CANADA, CYPRUS, DOMINICA, GAMBIA, GHANA, GRENADA, GUYANA,
INDIA, JAMAICA, KENYA, KIRIBATI, LESOTHO, MALAWI, MALAYSIA, MALDIVE ISLANDS,
MALTA, MAURITIUS, NAURU, NEVIS, NEW ZEALAND, NIGERIA, PAKISTAN, PAPUA NEW GUINEA,
SAMOA (WESTERN SAMOA), SEYCHELLES, SIERRA LEONE, SINGAPORE, SOLOMON ISLANDS,

Great Britain was first country in the world to come up with the 'stamp' idea as
a means of payment for postage delivery and issued the first postage stamp in
1840, known as the 'Black Penny'. Direct UPU membership since July 1st, 1875.
Until recent years, nature of stamps quite conservative, current monarch's head
as symbol, without name of country. Annual output about 50.
