Information
In the period of time between the closing of British Post Offices in PALESTINE, Mandate
and before the proclamation of independence of ISRAEL, prior to issuing of
Israeli stamps (period known as the 'Interim Period' governed by the Peoples
Administration), stamps of the Jewish National Fund (K.K.L.) were overprinted
with the Hebrew word 'Doar' meaning Post. Several stamps were also issued for
local use, most of them unofficially. Stamps were in use for a short period in
April-May, 1948.
