A former British Crown Colony, an enclave within the territory of SOUTH AFRICA (R.S.A.)
until 1965 when it became autonomous. On October 4th, 1966 it proclaimed
independence as Kingdom of LESOTHO. From 1871 until 1910 stamps of
CAPE OF GOOD HOPE were in use and between 1910-1933 stamps of Union of South
Africa. Stamp issuing between 1933-1966. |
