A former Colony of ITALY in North Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
Stamp issuing between 1923-1934, all in Italian design, replaced in 1935 by
stamps of Libya. During World War II occupied by Great Britain (see
MIDDLE EAST FORCES) and administrated by Great Britain until 1952 in which it
joined with Kingdom of LIBYA whose stamps came into use.
