A former Colony of FRANCE in central Africa, part of FRENCH CONGO. It became a
separate colony in 1904 and in 1910 conjoined the colonies of GABON,
UBANGI-SHARI and CHAD (TCHAD) (all of which were also formerly parts of French Congo)
to form the colony of FRENCH EQUATORIAL AFRICA and remained part of it until 1958.
In same year it became an Autonomous Republic and since 1960 fully independent.
