A seaport in EGYPT. A French Post Office was opened in 1830 (using stamps of
FRANCE when issued). From 1899 French stamps with overprint, later on stamps
were issued for Alexandria separately. Postage due stamps of Alexandria were
valid also in PORT SAID after 1928. Stamps were issued until 1930, the Post
Office was closed on March 31st, 1931.
