Area - 468 sq.km; Population - 67,600; Capital - Andorra la Vella
Small Autonomous State in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, and
co principality of both. The main income source is tourism, cattle breeding,
timber and furniture are exported.
Andorra has customs and currency union with both FRANCE and SPAIN (ESPANA)
(it has no currency of its own). Stamp issuing started in 1928 when Spain opened
the first post office in Andorra. Prior to that stamps of France and Spain were
in use, depending on which post carried the mail. In 1931 French postal
authorities also started issuing stamps. UPU indirect membership through France
and Spain. Annual output 15 to 20 in total, for both postal services.
