A former British Crown Colony in south east Asia, leased by China to GREAT BRITAIN (U.K.) in
1898 for a period of 99 years. A most important port and trade center in the
Far-East. Between 1941-1945 the area was occupied by Japan. First stamps issued in 1862.
Indirect UPU membership since April 1st, 1877, under Great Britain.
Hong Kong became the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) of
