A former British Colony, located in the Malay peninsula, in southeastern Asia.
The colony combined the territories of MALACCA (MELAKA), SINGAPORE
and PENANG (PULAU PINANG) at first and in 1906 was also joined by LABUAN.
Formerly under East India Company administration until 1867, using stamps of India.
Its existence ceased in 1946 when Singapore became a separate Crown colony
while Malacca and Penang joined the MALAYAN FEDERATION in 1948, now incorporated
within MALAYSIA. Stamp issuing between 1867-1941.
